Enginuity Testimonials

The following comments are from a paper presented at the 13th International Pacific Conference on Automotive Engineering, section 2.1., Selection of Engine Model:
"... There are some widespread commercial engine models such as Enginuity by SimuQuest, EngineSim by SimCar, and GT-Power by Gamma technology. Among these three engine models, Enginuity is appropriate for developing a misfire detection system because Enginuity has cylinder-by-cylinder combustion models, and is fast and accurate enough for designing a misfire detection system."

Enginuity

Enginuity enables engine strategy development within the Mathworks simulation environment, significantly reducing the dependence on expensive experimental testing. The underlying engine model has been designed to be real-time capable and emulates the engine dynamics with sufficient accuracy over the entire engine operating-envelope. The model supports control strategy development at any level of complexity, either for exploratory purposes or for production intent systems.

Enginuity consists of a Simulink engine component model library and a GUI-based model calibration tool. The underlying models are the result of a thoroughly physics-based, zero-dimensional modeling approach. The behavior of each component model is a function of the component geometry and, occasionally, e.g., in the case of the heat release in the combustion chamber, also of a small number of regression parameters. Enginuity enables rapid assembly and calibration of accurate, real-time capable simulation models for any given target SI engine. The model executable is obtained from native Simulink blocks using standard code generation tools. The compiled model code executes very rapidly both on PCs within Simulink or on dedicated HIL target platforms such as dSPACE or Opal-RT systems.
